Compose the Book
This is the fun part, trying out different layouts, themes, and compositions for your book.
Usually the first thing you have to do is select the general book layout (changeable later) and then
select the photos you are going to use for the book (no need to specify where they go yet). There
may be a few other "getting started" decisions to make but after that you can begin dropping the
pictures onto the pages where you like. Select page backgrounds and picture frames (if you want one).
Try out different page layouts, backgrounds, and picture frames until you are happy with the results.
The software should create a proof that will allow you to get a good idea of what the book will look
like before committing to print. The picture below is one page from a book I created using software
from one of the vendors.

The word "Proof" is written across each page of the proof book lightly. From this one page
I can see that the
background is what I had in mind, the two pictures are sized and spaced as I wanted, and that the
frame around the pictures is correct. This is one page that did not have any captions or other text
but if there were text on this page I would use the proof page to make sure the font, word spacing,
font size, and font color meet expectations.
